If your HD's and CD works fine with PIO5, keep them there.
Otherwise, if you got the "readtest" program that comes with the powerflyer
do like this:

Set the drives you want to check to PIO3 (or PIO0 if the drive is old)
Reboot and run "readtest" (the powerflyer device must've been started
first).
As long as "readtest" doesn't return any errors, increase the PIO one step
and run "readtest" again.
Then set each drive for the highest PIO that didn't return any errors.

The reason why your CD-RW doesn't mount under PIO4 & 5 is probably that it
doesn't support higher PIO than 3.
